After VB MAT, PADRONA, SMO LOCABAT, REMALEV, XCENTRIC, S.O.R.E.V.I (SGE Group), and ATMS recently joined the Sunward network in France, CODIMATRA, a subsidiary of the Dubreuil Group, is now becoming a Sunward dealer in southwestern France. This partnership marks a new milestone in Sunward’s network expansion in 2024, further boosting the brand’s presence across the national territory.

CODIMATRA: A Reference in Construction Equipment and Used Machinery

Founded in 1979 and based in Agen, CODIMATRA specializes in the purchase and sale of used construction equipment and spare parts for public works machines over 10 tons. With a 10-hectare site, a team of 63 employees, and over 60,000 clients in France and internationally, CODIMATRA is a key player in the reconditioning of construction equipment.

CODIMATRA is part of the Dubreuil Group’s Construction Equipment division, a renowned French family business with consolidated revenue of €3.16 billion. The construction equipment division of the Dubreuil Group has been a major player in the distribution and rental of public works equipment since 2002, now accounting for 10% of the group’s activity. With 920 dedicated employees, this division generates €322 million in revenue and offers extensive coverage from the Atlantic coast to southeastern France.

“The entire CODIMATRA team is delighted to begin a partnership with Sunward! During our visit to Sunward’s European center in Belgium, we met an experienced team in the construction sector, technically solid and ambitious to conquer the French market”, says Romain Berni, Managing Director of CODIMATRA.

Through this partnership, CODIMATRA will distribute a full range of Sunward equipment in southwestern France. “The value for money is impressive across a full range of mini excavators and aerial work platforms, products that truly rival the major players in the sector. They even come with a 5-year warranty, which demonstrates Sunward’s confidence in the quality of its equipment,” adds Mr. Berni.

Julien Domenec, Sales Manager for France and the French overseas territories at Sunward Europe, adds: “We are thrilled to welcome CODIMATRA to our network. Their recognized expertise, combined with the strength of the Dubreuil Group, gives us immense confidence in this partnership’s ability to meet the needs of construction professionals in the southwest.”

Sunward in France: A Growing Network

Driven by the dynamism of Julien Domenec, Sunward’s dealership network in France continues to expand. Currently, 29 distributors cover mainland France, Corsica, and the overseas territories.

“We are building a strong network in France to offer our customers proximity services and quick availability of spare parts. The goal is to reach about 30 dealers by the end of 2025, covering the entire French territory,” explains Julien Domenec.

Sunward aims to become a key player in France, with a growth strategy based on close relationships with dealers and uncompromising service quality.

Sunward in Europe: Infrastructure Dedicated to Growth

Since its establishment in 2015, Sunward Europe has experienced rapid growth thanks to high-quality equipment specifically tailored to the European market’s demands. Based in Tessenderlo, Belgium, Sunward’s European center spans 25,000 m² and includes a large stock of machines and spare parts, a demonstration area, a technical training center, and a workshop for equipment customization.

Today, Sunward Europe boasts a network of over 150 dealers across the continent. This robust European network enables Sunward to offer a spare parts availability rate of over 95%, ensuring responsive after-sales service for its dealers and customers. “We constantly invest in our logistics and European stock to meet the expectations of dealers like CODIMATRA because we understand that quick and reliable service is essential in the construction sector,” emphasizes Julien Domenec.

With three main divisions—construction equipment, aerial work equipment, and foundation equipment—Sunward Europe continues to strengthen its presence in the European market and diversify its offerings. These three strategic sectors position Sunward as a global player ready to tackle market challenges.

A Strategic Partnership for the Future

This partnership between Sunward and CODIMATRA represents a significant step forward for the brand in France, aligning with Sunward’s broader expansion strategy on the continent. “This is a real opportunity for CODIMATRA to enter the distribution of new construction equipment. The entire team is attentive and available to each current and future customer in southwestern France to deliver quality, service, and profitability with Sunward products,” concludes Romain Berni.
