{"id":3648,"date":"2024-08-20T15:19:29","date_gmt":"2024-08-20T13:19:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sunward.eu\/?p=3648"},"modified":"2024-08-20T15:42:33","modified_gmt":"2024-08-20T13:42:33","slug":"aj-armstrong-first-sale-of-11-scissor-lifts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sunward.eu\/it\/aj-armstrong-first-sale-of-11-scissor-lifts\/","title":{"rendered":"AJ Armstrong and Sons makes a first Sunward sale, of 11 scissor lifts, to SDC Trailers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>When the UK and Ireland\u2019s largest semi-trailer manufacturer decided to switch from hiring to purchasing scissor lifts, they looked no further than Sunward.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the working relationship that SDC Trailers\u2019 production manager Eoin McErlean has with local Northern Ireland Sunward dealer AJ Armstrong and Sons, a month\u2019s demo of 6m and 8m scissor lifts has led to their first purchase of Sunward machines &#8211; a total of 11 electric scissor lifts!<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 1978, SDC Trailers manufacturers curtainsider, boxvan, platform, skeletal, drawbar and machine carrier trailers for the industry\u2019s leading logistics operators, supermarket chains and rental companies.<\/p>\n<p>The scissor lifts that had been on hire for years were typically used to assist in the manufacture of curtain-sided trailers across SDC\u2019s 600,000ft<sup>2<\/sup> of production facilities in Toomebridge, Antrim, Mansfield and Southampton.<\/p>\n<p>The new electric Sunward machines &#8211; five SWSL 0607DC 6m lifts, five SWSL 0807DC 8m lifts and a SWSL 1008DC 10m lift (Sunward\u2019s scissor lift range runs up to 20m) will be used by SDC\u2019s production team in Toomebridge.<\/p>\n<p>AJ Armstrong director, Andrew Armstrong said SDC Trailers opted for electric scissor lifts as they would negate the risk of fumes within the building, but also because they were easy to charge and run.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>They are performing very well and SDC seem to be well pleased<\/em>,\u201d Andrew said.<\/p>\n<p>Eoin McErlean said the demos sealed the deal for him and SDC\u2019s facilities manager.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>The equipment demo gave us the opportunity to evaluate the electric machines onsite and long-term it looked more financially attractive to buy from Sunward<\/em>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Eoin added: \u201c<em>I knew if Andrew was happy with them, they were going to be good<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Over the past four decades, SDC has pioneered several industry-first semi-trailer solutions for the modern-day transport operator.
